WORKING TOGETHER

THE MAINE REGULATORY TRAINING AND ETHICS CENTER (MeRTEC) is an educational partnership between the University of Southern Maine, Maine businesses, and community partners.

Regulatory compliance affects wide ranging fields, including health and social services, education, business, energy, the environment, and more.

We are committed to strengthening regulatory compliance and ethics training and developing an educated workforce.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE IS COMPLICATED

Regulatory compliance can change how you do business. Non-compliance presents risk that can lead to fines, or worse, litigation.

  • But what satisfies compliance?
  • How do you manage compliance in your organization?
  • Where can you find the requirements that affect your business?

MeRTEC offers courses and certification for professionals in regulatory compliance.

EXTERNAL IRB REVIEWS

USM’s Office of Research Integrity and Outreach (ORIO) is offering reviews of non-USM research projects.

For many institutions, it is not practical to maintain a standing review committee, yet external funding requires formal IRB approval. If you are an institution or investigator in need of a review by a federally registered IRB with a federal-wide assurance, USM's Office of Research Integrity and Outreach can help.
