IRB Process |
How does the learning IRB process differ from a traditional IRB?
Our learning IRB reviewers take in the entire COVID-19 research landscape. Traditional IRB’s are primarily focused on the study at hand. They are often influenced by outside factors such as a lack of resources or business needs. As a non-profit, we are not beholden to investors or owners. We are able to provide an easy, convenient review with a strong focus on ethics and regulatory standards. By looking both horizontally across the research landscape and vertically into the history of similar studies, we are able to reduce duplicative and poorly designed research so our clients can be confident their studies will withstand scrutiny. |
What can a client expect in our approval process? What's the timeline?
Our clients can expect personalized service, an open and transparent review and a streamlined process. During the review process, we will work closely with you to resolve any questions and provide our expertise and experience to ensure your research will meet the highest ethical and regulatory standards. Because of commitment to process improvement, the time needed to complete a review can be short. Often we will finish our review in one to two weeks for a submission that goes to the full board and in just one week for a submission that goes through expedited review. |
